Also if they are still reluctant say that this is not the first time you have phoned in for an update, all you want is the latest status code...
Yes they never seem 100% happy helping you, and some don't even know what the status code is or where to look for it; but persistence usually pays off in the end
They can help you and do have access to the information you need, if I have any problems I usually say something like my sales guy is on holiday this week so I was hoping you could give me a quick update on my car etc., just keep trying...
