You know what you can do is, slide a flat head driver under where the release clip clicks on, and push upward gently as you push downward on the clip head with your other hand.
left hand /w flat head screwdriver PUSH UP (slide under where the clip clicks on)
right hand PUSH DOWN on the release while PULLing the plug.
this method has no chance of breaking or damaging the plug/wires what so ever.

i learned this the hard way! my hands have cuts and bruises to tell the tales.
I cant believe how annoying the clips are. never the less good work, I wish i saw this thread before!
