Of the two options I preferred the Dakota leather over leatherette. It was thick and durable feeling to me like the leather in the E60 I recently sold. I feel it makes the seats feel firmer and more supportive. I was surprised with the leatherette though it felt really nice. It is a preference so check them both out at the dealer and make your own choice.. You won't go wrong either way
