This basically explains why it is not working in a virtual windows xp/7 as I do not receive an IP address on a normal network adapter.

Now I am wondering if anybody knows which IP address, subnetmask has to be configured manually to make a connection if dhcp is not working ?

If you are running E-Sys in a Virtual Machine (VM), make sure you set the VM NIC to bridging mode, not NAT.
