Yes, nothing says I4 (or I6 for that matter) better than a dual sided exhaust (coming out of one, central can). I love that my 135i doesn't have the goofy dual sided exhaust and always debated ditching it on my M Coupe.

I don't mind dual sided exhaust on engines that actually have two sides of exhaust, ie V or boxer motors, but really don't get the point on straight motors. BMW resisted for years, but finally caved on the E9x and E6x cars, as well as the F1x. Oh well.
