Hope your collective insights will be able to help out on a question. I'm looking at getting a set of wheels and tires for this coming winter and was at tirerack.com when I got thrown for a loop. My current setup on my 335i sport is 19" wheels with (I believe this is called the staggered setup):
19" Alternate Front: 225/40-19
19" Alternate Rear: 255/35-19
Here is the prompt I received from tirerack when trying to order a set of 17" or 18" wheels/tires (mind you I also tried a different car setup base model and received same prompt): You Selected: 17" winter package for 2012 BMW 335i Sedan Sport Line
*** Front or rear fitment Rear fitment Must use XL 225/40-19 on rear of vehicle for non-staggered set up. ***
Does anyone know what the above means? Basically this is the issue that is throwing me off, understanding what size wheels tires to get.
Ideally, I''d like to get 17" wheels/tires for the winter. Any advice is welcome.
On another note, wow, what a whirlwind, first post in probably six months or so, got a new f30, I've gotten engaged and shortly thereafter we found out we're expecting too. Luckily, I didn't get a coupe or convertible...
