The biggest opening in the market and where BMW should be selling more is the 2 series. The dealer should be selling that car and it should have volume on par with the x1.

If I had to guess, I'm willing to bet A3 and Mercedes CLA sales are hurting the 2 Series pretty hard. They're not as expensive as the 2 Series, come with 4 doors, and are every bit as luxurious.
Audi can't seem to build the A3 fast enough and with the S3 hitting showrooms in a few weeks.... |
BMW needs a 2 series gran coupe to compete in that segment.
I have been screaming this for about a year or more.
Way too many BMW fans still driving e36 four doors that feel like they haven't found a replacement, because the new cars are too big and too heavy and too wide, particularly e36m3/4 owners.
