For F30, particularly one without a dedicated Combox, I do not know how it is possible.

From the VOs on his car, I think it's identical to a F10 with 6NL. I think probably the same procedure (need to write EU VIN into combox?) is required.
The only difference between a F10 & F30 is the infotainment platform when nav is not fitted.
