I think you need a 'Y cable' unless you have pro-media or Enhanced Bluetooth with USB (EBT). I've seen some mutterings of Business Plus possibly having it.
I went for EBT, I tried a non Nav car with my iPhone, no joy. Then I tried a business media car with no joy. What worked was a business media car with EBT. So, ordered a car with EBT with no Nav and crossed my fingers!
