Can you explain your math on this? You've paid $1,000 for insurance + $50 deductible = $1,050. You received a new tire that would have cost you $425 through the BMW dealer. How does "investing" $1,050 and receiving a $425 benefit put you "ahead"?

Seems like you would have to have at least 2 more flat tire replacements before you're really ahead.
