I've done winters with FWD's and RWD's...and AWD's.

I found myself doing stupider $hit with the AWD's, since I knew I had a "safety"...with that said, in CT, i counted on my hand only 5 days out of the year where I had to go to work when there was some risk of snow/snow on the ground.

AWD, with global warming, has become optional for me in CT - not worth the extra weight or MPG.
