I've driven summer tires in snow and it's pretty miserable. On straight, level roads it feels squirrely but doable until one has to stop or turn. I do not want to contemplate an emergency.
I got caught once in my Z06 in a 1/4" of snow a couple of years ago. I could not even begin to get up my driveway where the snow was fresh. Truly high performance summer tires are completely useless in snow.

Z06, I would be scared to drive that car even with winter tires, those are serious sports cars
Imagine driving a DodgeViper in the snow, that should be fun. Truth be told I am scared of driving that car even in the summer
