That black 135i was in fact an N54 car. But Mannhart will use a N55 head and upgraded twin turbos. Their target is to be faster than the new F80 M3/M4. 550 PS they say is their target goal.

Mannhart also hopes to have the car finished and at the IAA Fracnkfurt auotoshow in Sept. The same car show where BMW should be showing the new F80 M3. We shall see.


My friends at BMW AG tell me the next F80 M3 will use a N55 engine as its base. The internal engine code is S55. It will also use twin turbos on a tweaked & tuned version of the N55 engine along with a water to air intercooler. 450 PS is //M GmbH's goal... but right now it looks like 410 or 420 PS is more realistic Hp level.
