I have moved from an 2008 E61 525D via an 2010 F11 520D Touring onto the F31 and both of these had white illuminated dashboard dials and controls during daylight which turned orange at night.
The F31 dashboard seems quite dark during the day with no illumination of the instruments at all even with the DRL turned on. To achieve the orange glow the side lights or headlights have to be turned on.
Anyone else noticed this ?

I tend to always run with side lights due to darker morning in nE Scotland into habit always put side light on , but as you say better if came on with DRL
