I'm 100% with you on that... but as someone who was sitting in their car, stationary at the back of a queue of traffic, who was then hit up the rear by a woman doing 50mph who wasn't looking where she was going, and who then spent two years to get her to admit liability (and a further four years to get damages!)... I know people will try anything. They'll swear you had a dancing monkey on your boot waving a flag saying "look the other way" if they thought it would get them out of something
