You need to pair a 'compatible' phone to see "Messages". If you're using Blackberry, make sure MAP is enable.
If you're using iPhone, try repairing your phone (delete then add again) in the telephone menu. Then wait for a while, make sure you also enable "Show Notifications" in your iPhone bluetooth menu.
