Just as a point to add to the poster getting 68-70 by doing 50 mph. I think you've totally missed the point, obviously it costs about 20 grand more for a brand new 3 series versus a nearly new car that could average over 50 to te gallon. So this is not an exercise in saving money and if you're driving around at 50 to get 70 to the gallon then in my book that's a false positive.
The point about this car and the thing that really impresses is the ability to do 70 or 80 and get late fifties to early sixties to the gallon. Example is my trip to Scotland this weekend all motorway current obc average 64.5 real average 61.7 mpg. This is easy to achieve and is the only sort of figure the reader should be believing. I think it's disingenuous and misleading to say otherwise because is never going to happen in real life
