I'm picking up a set of Michelin X-ice xi3 with a set of aftermarket alloys. They seem to get the top pick on Consumer Reports with the following remarks:
Rating 62
CR's Take
A very good choice if sure-footed winter grip is the top priority.
Highs - Excellent snow traction and stopping grip on ice. Low rolling resistance, a factor in fuel economy.
Lows - Relatively long dry and wet stops. Handling and hydroplaning resistance are just fair.
The Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 get the following:
Rating 58
CR's Take
A good choice for severe winter driving.
Highs - Excellent snow traction and very good grip on icy surfaces.
Lows - Fair dry braking and long stops on wet pavement. Slow steering response and low limits in our emergency handling course.
Was there a reason most of you went with the Blizzak's? I've already ordered mine and they are going to be installed Thursday but I might be able to make a late change if there's an advantage to the Blizzak's.
Thanks
