I think we have more regulation in australia and slower to adopt overseas standards.
For instance, it took us ages to adopt isofix.
I know for example australian VW golfs need minor mods to comply with aussie harnessing standards. Maybe now they dont... No idea.
When i pick up the car, i will be able to tell from any special inserts to the owners manual what the country specific mods were.
