Everyone around here bashing the 4cylinder....when as far back as the E12/E30, they were being produced as a 318 model...a 2l 4 cylinder. M42 engines are surprisingly strong and take well to forced induction. And with Obama trying to push for 60mpg rules by 2025 and gas prices on the rise again, I wouldn't mind rocking a 4 cylinder diesel.
