it could be that:
only that one single speaker is for the voice calls...
... due to its location, or rather i should say, thanks to its location under the foot well.
it will not interfere nor will produce unpleasant echo effect to the person you are calling on the other line...
The microphone is place on the ceiling close to the driver so to capture as much of your sound/speech!
It would not make sense to use all 16 speaker to let you listen to the phone call...
the sound would just picked up too easily by the microphone... producing bad echos...
placing that one speaker under the foot well help defuse the sound and the carpet will prevent it from bouncing up to the microphone...
EDIT: but then i could be wrong also...
since i dont have my car yet, i cannot confirm it...
