There are two different conversations going on at once and getting mixed up. One is if it's a smart business decision. That's dictated entirely by global sales and profits. If one or another person likes it or not is irrelevant to this. The other is about personal opinions of the car's looks. That's dictated by subjective taste and sales have nothing to do with it. I think the side vents look ugly, but BMW has no reason to care if they sell a trillion cars with side vents in China or India or wherever.
