Not really sure more high speed chases is a great idea though. Plus a fast car keeps up with another fast car, still got to stop it though. Technology in every new car where the police can shut the engine down maybe? Sure there would be many problems with that too if I take the time to think it through.

Indeed, so perhaps it's the lack of cars rather than their speed that's more relevant. Much easier to plan to stop or to track a vehicle with a team of cars than just one on its own.
