I switch on ignition without starting the car. I then switch it off. This leaves the car with power available to some functions, including the wipers.

Lift & hold wiper lever past all click points till it won't move up any further. Hold in place till the wipers sweep across the windscreen. They will sweep twice. Also, be mindful of frosted/iced wiper blades where and when applicable. Don't attempt to do this with wipers in such condition.

Once the wipers sweep across, they will stop in the vertical position, so you can fold them back off the windscreen.

Once finished. lower each blade to the windscreen, turn on ignition (without starting engine) and press down once on the lever. Wipers return to resting position at bottom of windscreen.
