I never use the shifter or the paddles. The reason I went to an automatic with my previous car is that after 30 years of driving MTs I'd simply grown tired of them, especially when driving in the city. The reason I went to a luxury car, aside from having paid off my mortgage so I could afford to, was so I could enjoy the benefits of a luxury car, which includes not doing my own shifting. If I was still into shifting and a hard ride I'd have bought a Z4.
