Don't forget, you can still use the
My BMW Remote iPhone app without needing the Mobile Application Preparation option - it gives you Google Search (with send-to-my-car), remote lock/unlock, remote headlight flash and remote heating on/off. We don't get the remote sound-the-horn in the UK (noise regs I think).
Also, I'm waiting to hear back from my dealer (if he ever returns my calls!) about a retrofit of the Mobile Apps. 3rd parties can do it and according to the BMW website, dealers can do it too but it says 'ask your local dealer'.
