It has a very high chance of being a 20d cos BMW launched the 320d in Japan near the end of last yr, & the diesel emission regs there are very similar to US EPA regs.
The engine specs of the Jap-spec 320d is identical to EU-spec 320d.
On the foto it said single turbo, so it cannot be the twin-turbo N47 found in the 325d.
