Although it is only changing the place where you see the information, it brings a whole different experience IMO. Looking at the speed, song information, CC info etc. on the windshield fells like you are in more luxurious and sportier car.
But as you said it doesn`t give any new information to you, you would pay for it to enjoy the car more. If you are trying to keep cost low, it is one of the first to leave out.
I keep HUD on all the time. I enjoy it but probably I wouldn`t have paid for it if it didn`t come with Nav.
