If you haven't seen one in person, I recommend you suspend judgment until you do. The pictures aren't doing justice to the F30 interior. It comes off pretty cool in real life.
And as for materials quality, I've no reason to believe that BMW is using inferior grade plastics on the F30 versus the F10. Certainly, with the E60/E90, it was exactly the same stuff.
