So while I was in the dealership getting my windshield wipers problem fixed, I mentioned that the wind noise was excessive at higher speeds. my dealer contacted BMW HQ and was told to order new mirror covers. Seems there is a design change after all. I wont get them installed until 1 Feb but I will post back if I hear any improvement.
