You can play it down all you want, but its a huge difference.

Two weeks and the wheels have a light cover of dust. Not black soot covering them and from a distance the wheels still look silver. I don't go beyond 2 weeks because I like a clean car.

And after 3 years the interior of the wheel (part you don't bother cleaning) still shows silver. I clean mine about once every 3-4 months just to shine them up.

I can tell you from my E46 and E36 M3 that this E90 brake situation is a huge plus for me. Not having to deal with constantly black wheels.
