I think you can get aftermarket module such as Dension to add iPod connectivity to your 09. Map update can be purchased from the dealer (or maybe overseas vendors, but requires remote activation). Or you can retrofit to the newer gen CIC iDrive Navigation (with 8.8" screen) + Combox for around 40k with all the latest tech (apps, office, etc.) BMW offers for the newer cars.
For me, I am still at the research/planning stage as my car won't arrive until December. Checked with a local installer and the cost of retrofitting 8.8" Nav for F30 cars is around $32k.
Another note: I have added Extended Cluster to my order for $2,100 + FRT.
