Yes, I currently use the U.S. Mills front license bracket and am very pleased, it uses the front tow hook as an attachment for the license plate.
Although, it would work for you it might not be ideal, I believe U.S. license plates are taller than European license plates so, if you used this solution you may not be able to affix it properly.
