I was at the same BMW presentation and do not recall BMW making the broad statement that the engines revealed for the 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe would be supplanting all 6 and 8 cylinder engines throughout its entire car lineup. They didn't talk about the engines except in the context of (and for) the 6GC. Something like that would definitely have stood out to me.
It would be natural to expect that these power bumps will happen for some other models at some point in the future, but it's not something BMW discussed at the presentation. Here is the slide that was displayed during the presentation when discussing the 2013 6GC's engines.
