BMW does a lousy job explaining the options for audio connectivity, and I've heard too many stories of "client advisors" not really understanding the options/features either. I've also read that some folks receive Y cables with their cars when they get them (as in: packaged with the car manual) but I'd definitely take a Y cable just to cover your bases. Very jealous of your ED, btw!
