I think the main reason was that I went there 5 in the evening and they didnt have any fully trained technicians, it was an apprentice who looked that the tyre. The way I see it is they tried to make it safer for me to drive until they could either replace the tyre or switch the wheels.

Unfortunately due to work comitments I can't get the wheels switched till saturday morning but I will be closing motoring the tyre to make sure the pressure isn't getting too low - when I got to work this morning there didnt appear to be any loss which is good.

Oh I definitely believe tyre insurance can be worth it and for those of you guys with larger alloys it can be worth every penny

Unfortunately I don't know of any specialist tyre place in the area that I know I can definitely trust so i'd rather spend the money on a new tyre and know for certain i'll be safe
