Congrats on your new purchase, in Hong Kong I shared the same consideration when I brought my BMW as well. 340i is unpopular in Hong Kong due to its price, at close to HK$ 89K people will rather buy M2 at same price or chip in to get a new M3 or used M3 instead.
My friend has a 328i moderately modded, and I can tell his car is not slow at all and get lot of funs in day-to-day HK city driving.
With your car in hand, I am sure there are many mods to come. There should be some garages in India who can install/mod your car into M performance vibe territory.
