Delete the car profile from the phone and delete the phone profile from the car and try pairing again. You might also want to reboot your phone and the iDrive (press and hold the volume button for 30 seconds).
If that doesn't work, does bluetooth work on your phone with another bluetooth device (ear piece, etc). Does bluetooth work on the car with a different phone?
You need to find out if it's the phone, or the car causing the problem.
