I know Google has that statement, but it worked. I did, however, notice that if you try to send to car from Google Maps from a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), you have to be in Desktop (as opposed to Mobile) version of Google Maps for the SEND option to even appear.
Also, there is an App for Windows 8, called SEND to BMW, that does the same thing as Google Maps currently does -- so if you have problems with Google Maps, try that App Out.
Finally, there is an Android App, Send to Car, that also does the same thing
