Problem is the next guy is getting fleeced as well. Calling BMW NA just puts in on record. If it's a one-off, then nothing will happen. If they are scamming 10, 20, 30 people and they all call, then BMW will step in. It's the right thing to do.
I understand and agree with you 100% about not wanting people to get screwed over. Although in my opinion I think that to many people call and to many people suggest that others call BMW NA the first time there is an issue. You would be surprised how many posts are in here where the first thing suggested is to call BMW NA and complain about an issue before even trying to rectify it with the dealership. I myself have had to contact BMW NA regarding my 2012 F30 328i. My car was towed to the dealership two times in the first two weeks of having it and it has been in the shop a total of seven times in the three months I've had it.
