Ditto, used to have a Z4MC and thought engines were everything until tax+fuel+servicing combined with the congested roads made me think otherwise. My choice was somewhat easy as I wanted xdrive and only one engine choice. 320d has as much torque as the old M3 S54 engine, depending on your miles and if you are buying new then petrol might be a good choice.
