Not everyone wants a diesel. Mileage, short trips and for some without company car tax issues, mean there are drivers who still like a smaller petrol model.
And as the diesels are getting issues (DPF issues for example) if used for lots of short trips, it may be the prudent move to have petrol anyway, for some drivers.
