The value for the '12 is NOT tied to what it initially cost the dealer or how similar the features are. It's LAST YEAR'S MODEL. The car should definitely be discounted way more than that. As stated above, down the road, it will always be one year older than the new '13 you could have bought for the same price (or within a few hundred dollars) and worth substantially less.

Either walk away or get down to the nuts and bolts of negotiating.

Here's a tip - check the label in the driver's door jamb to see what the build month was. The older the car is, the longer it's been on the lot and the more floorplan the dealer has paid. The longer it sits, the more it becomes a negative asset and the more motivated they will be to sell it.
