i'd appreciate if you would expand upon your comparison of the auto to the dct! my departed 128 was a stick. i'm currently driving a 2012 focus se hatch with a 5-speed stick but in about a year, for my next vehicle, i'm thinking of, as a concession to age, giving up the 3rd petal. my short list is bmw 228/m235 and mkvii gti. at this point, not having driven them yet, one factor in favor of the gti is that it will have the dsg whereas the bmws will have the "true" auto. while opinions vary, my general impression is that the dual clutch trannys "feel" sportier, although as you and others have expressed, the zf unit certainly performs very well. my main question is; which will most closely deliver the involvment and overall sporty feeling of a true manual?
