I've heard people say they "think" shadow codes are thrown but have you actually seen them or heard first hand from someone with an F30 having them? Could just be speculation.
Regardless, I can't see any issue with an unplugged actuator as far as damage to your car. It's only function is to keep the car quiet from what I understand.

Like you I have just read about these shadow codes being thrown. No hard evidence. Agreed it is a very low low risk mod. If you can stand the drone give it a go. Makes daily driving sound way louder.
