I would bet your dealer didn't have a allocation slot available for a German built car until that time. We recently ordered a 330 sedan and got a German build within one week. But their are less 340 slots available than 330's |
When I ordered mine, the dealership didn't have a german build allocation, so they traded another dealership for one on the spot, and got my build confirmed next day.
