You have nothing to be worried about. Claying/waxing/sealing will only bring out the best in your car. And the only way you'll end up on that slippery slope is if you get addicted to the results.
Here's a little tip. Find someone who smokes and slip the cellophane off their ciggie packet. Put two fingers inside the cellophane and feel your paintwork. You can't do this with just your fingers but with the cellophane large areas will feel like a Braille dictionary. Then try this trick again when your man has done his thing
