They're not the sharpest tacks in the drawer. In Montana I was at the top of one of their spectacular rolling hills doing about 80 on the interstate. I saw a small herd of mule deer on the highway at the bottom of the hill trough, which was probably 5 miles off (you'd have to have been to Montana to know how that's possible and understand how it got it's name as the Big Sky country). At about a mile away I started slowing down, giving occasional horn blasts. They didn't move. At 200 yards I laid hard on the horn, they still didn't move. I ended up slowing to a crawl and practically had to push them out of the way when I reached them. I wasn't in a little car either, I was in a full sized van. Its presence didn't faze them a bit.
