Out here in the Northwest, we rarely get the amount of snowfall that would necessitate winter tires. I have my set more for the temperature ratings vs for snow (and it also allows me to have a dedicated summer ultra-performance tire set). That being said, I select my winters assuming there's a lot of snowfall. Therefore, square setup and narrower (225 profile). Besides... it's crummy weather for just a few months.
