I think this is an important distinction. Yes, there are markedly less failures. But, I don't think the cause is fully understood.
Please correct me if I have this wrong.

All F30s got a redesigned fuel pump vs. what BMW used with pre-March 2012 E9x cars.
I've read thousands of posts here and elsewhere, and never seen anybody have a failure of this new design.
